The Coral Tooth Fungus (Hericium coralloides) a close relative of the Lion’s Mane, found throughout northern hardwood forests where it grows on fallen logs and decaying wood. Its delicate, branching clusters resemble underwater coral, with soft white spines that make it one of the most striking mushrooms in the forest.

Both a gourmet edible and a valued medicinal species, Coral Tooth offers a mild, slightly nutty flavor and tender texture when cooked. This kit contains a thriving colony of Coral Tooth mycelium, the fine thread-like network that forms the body of the fungus, growing on sterilized sawdust. With proper care, you can cultivate your own beautiful Coral Tooth mushrooms right at home!

To get mushrooms to start growing you will need to cut an X where we have marked in the substrate bag and mist regularly (2-3 times per day). Mushrooms will form over the next 1-2 weeks. When the brain-like mushroom fruiting bodies get large (up to fist-sized) and start to get shaggy the are ready to harvest!
