Gourmet Mushroom Plugs for your mushroom growing needs.

    • Made with certified organic and naturally-sourced materials
    • Years of seasonal crops, right in your own backyard!
    • Farm mushrooms in a style that's been used for thousands of years

Difficulty: Intermediate (some tools required)

Our shiitake mushroom plugs enable you to make your own mushroom logs at home! Plug spawn grown at Cascadia Mushrooms are made only with high-quality and vigorous growing strains of shiitake mushroom that fruit in a wide range of temperatures and climates. We include easy-to-follow instructions. Don't forget the sealing wax!

Each bag of spawn contains 100+ plugs, enough to inoculate 3 to 5 logs that are 3 to 4 feet in length. Once inoculated, the logs must be placed in a shady area exposed to natural rainfall and out of direct summer sun. Mushrooms begin to fruit in one or two years after prolonged soaking. They will continue to produce until the logs rot to the ground (anywhere from 3-7 years!). This is a great garden project and makes an excellent gift for the Do-It-Yourself gardener or homesteader.

Includes easy to follow instructions--requires some tools and sealing wax. Looking for more mushroom plugs? We offer Blue Oyster mushroom plugs too!

Looking for a new and exciting gift this season? We have you covered! Mushroom kits are great for the gardener, foodie or mushroom enthusiast in your life! They're great for all ages and there's a few varieties to choose from.

Mushroom kits are a live item so we will be holding all early holiday orders to be shipped in December. Peak Holiday shipping will take place from December 8th-16th but we ship orders up until December 23rd. We'll be shipping all of December but preordered kits go out first! Once you receive your kit, store it in a refrigerator or in a cool/dry place until you are ready to start it or gift it.

If you want your kit shipped later or on a particular day let us know by adding a note to your order. This is possible when viewing your cart. This is also the best place to leave a gift note. Orders intended for the 25th should be shipped no later than the 12th. We will not be shipping on 12/24 or 12/31.

If you would like your kit to be delivered earlier, simply use the standard shipping option at checkout and keep your kit in the refrigerator until you're ready to gift it. Grow kits can be refrigerated for up to 30 days.

If you have any questions, you can email us at info@cascadiamushrooms.com or call us at (360) 714-8859

I'll know more in 8-18 months

Easy to inoculate plugs into logs. Great instructions, but they are not scheduled to fruit until next year.

This was my first time ordering plugs. They came in great condition and with clear resources for how to inoculate. Cascadia Farms has also done a great job of providing resources via their website for newbies like me. Thank you!

A Shitake Adventure

We drilled, plugged and sealed five oak logs - six actually as we gave one as a gift. Your instructions were easy to follow. Now, we've settled into delayed gratification while we wait a year-plus for our first flush. When our friends supply a few more oak logs, we will order a second species. Thanks so much for your quick service. Anne in Southern Oregon
